Mindstorm

A fearsome & fantastic journey to the heart of the Savage Id.

Name:
Location: Invisible City, North Dakota, United States

Read my book, The Mind-Warp Era. It'll tell you about the real Lead--& his alter-ego, the true Rootboy covered with slime (the Savage Id). Partly a poignant memoir, partly a cosmicomic book, it relays the Id's adventures thru dark dimensions of funereal dread, with Timothy Leary as co-pilot. (The rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated.)

magnifying glass & mini-vacation

Yesterday may have been a watershed in my writing career: I finally have a magnifying glass strong enough to allow me to read. Since Joe convinced me to take a week-long vacation from writing -- it'd become a chore -- I plan to spend my free time today with a book.

Trish drove to work yesterday morning, & after she called home I ran over to the Center to see Joe. My main problem was that I've reached the point where writing is a chore & I have a high anxiety level when I do it. I'm going to spend a week doing nothing on the computer, save for email & blogging.

Then Car-girl told me that she'd be missing TA today -- she was going to Griffles -- so I ate a wheat taco at El Taco Loco, came home, & watched Heavy Metal. Trish called to say she'd be a little late, & just about the time we were warming up her leftover potatoes Car-girl called. All we did, once we had the magnifying glass, was to run around trying to find a sprinkler; our cheap plastic one busted. Kame-Apart was sold out. Bi-em-Apart was out. Finally, we came up with something at Home Barkus.

When I got home Trish was watching Heavy Metal, too. I relaxed a little under the a/c (100 degree day), then fixed stir-fry for supper. Trish took a shower while I read. We watched Dark Angel prior to taping it at bedtime.

When I got out of bed I made iced coffee, as usual -- one of the ice cube trays seems still not to be freezing up. It puzzles me that everything else should be frozen solid. If the problem persists I'll ask Karen if we can call in a repairman. I don't want to share the info with Trish as it'll just make her paranoid & she's under enough stress as it is.
